Riteish Deshmukh Says Actors Shouldn’t Overload Films with Their Fees | Bollywood

Arre Bollywood ke jasoos, suno suno! Khabree Kiran is back with another juicy tidbit from our filmi duniya! Toh chalo, shuru karte hain!

Riteish Deshmukh: The Unsung Producer Who Works for Free! 😲

Mumbai, Mumbai! Our beloved Riteish Deshmukh is not just an actor but also a producer who has decided to be the hero off-screen too! Arey waah, kya baat hai Riteish! Apna Riteish has taken a stand against the rising fees of actors and is setting an example by not charging a single paisa when he stars in his own productions. Wah bhai wah, yeh hui na baat!

Deshmukh, who is about to make his series debut with "Pill" (yes, that’s the name, not some medicine ad 😜), first dipped his toes into film production with the Marathi movie “Balak-Palak” in 2013. And guess what, he didn’t stop there! This guy also starred in “Lai Bhaari” and “Ved” under his Mumbai Film Company banner.

When asked about the increasing star fees and production costs, Riteish said, "I’m a producer who casts me, and I don’t pay myself, so I’m fine… It’s important that you do not burden any film with an actor’s fee because the film needs to survive. And if the film survives, everyone will survive." Baap re baap, such selflessness! 👏

Pill is directed by Rajkumar Gupta, who’s known for films like “Aamir” and “Raid”. This series will show the dark side of the pharmaceutical industry through the eyes of medical officers and whistleblowers. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies, the series will start streaming on JioCinema Premium from July 12. Mark your calendars, doston!

Gupta emphasized the need for transparency and budget control in the industry. "The money needs to be spent in the right place," he said. Kitni badi baat hai yeh! Transparency and cost efficiency – sounds like a dream! 🌈

Ronnie Screwvala, the man behind hits like “Swades”, “A Wednesday”, “Udaan”, and “Uri: The Surgical Strike”, is optimistic about the industry’s future. "I don’t look at the cup that is half empty, I look at the cup that is half full. There’s a lot that we need to do across the board," he said. Positive vibes only, Ronnie bhai! 🌟

In Pill, Riteish plays Dr. Prakash Chauhan, a medical officer. To get into the character, he worked with a dialect coach daily. "Raj sir was very clear in terms of how he wanted me to be. My first approach was, ‘Can I have a beard?’ He said, ‘I am looking at you just with a plain moustache.’" Haha, seems like Riteish had to let go of his beard dreams for this one!

Kiran’s Gyan: In Bollywood, it’s not just about the glitz and glamour. Sometimes, it’s about doing what’s right for the film and the industry. Riteish Deshmukh proves that being a star is not just about charging hefty fees but also about ensuring the survival of the film. So, Bollywood ke sitaro, thoda socho, thoda samjho – the film’s success is everyone’s success! 🌟
