Riteish Deshmukh: The Unsung Producer Who Works for Free! đ˛
Mumbai, Mumbai! Our beloved Riteish Deshmukh is not just an actor but also a producer who has decided to be the hero off-screen too! Arey waah, kya baat hai Riteish! Apna Riteish has taken a stand against the rising fees of actors and is setting an example by not charging a single paisa when he stars in his own productions. Wah bhai wah, yeh hui na baat!
Deshmukh, who is about to make his series debut with "Pill" (yes, thatâs the name, not some medicine ad đ), first dipped his toes into film production with the Marathi movie âBalak-Palakâ in 2013. And guess what, he didnât stop there! This guy also starred in âLai Bhaariâ and âVedâ under his Mumbai Film Company banner.
When asked about the increasing star fees and production costs, Riteish said, "Iâm a producer who casts me, and I donât pay myself, so Iâm fine⌠Itâs important that you do not burden any film with an actorâs fee because the film needs to survive. And if the film survives, everyone will survive." Baap re baap, such selflessness! đ
Pill is directed by Rajkumar Gupta, whoâs known for films like âAamirâ and âRaidâ. This series will show the dark side of the pharmaceutical industry through the eyes of medical officers and whistleblowers. Produced by Ronnie Screwvalaâs RSVP Movies, the series will start streaming on JioCinema Premium from July 12. Mark your calendars, doston!
Gupta emphasized the need for transparency and budget control in the industry. "The money needs to be spent in the right place," he said. Kitni badi baat hai yeh! Transparency and cost efficiency â sounds like a dream! đ
Ronnie Screwvala, the man behind hits like âSwadesâ, âA Wednesdayâ, âUdaanâ, and âUri: The Surgical Strikeâ, is optimistic about the industryâs future. "I donât look at the cup that is half empty, I look at the cup that is half full. Thereâs a lot that we need to do across the board," he said. Positive vibes only, Ronnie bhai! đ
In Pill, Riteish plays Dr. Prakash Chauhan, a medical officer. To get into the character, he worked with a dialect coach daily. "Raj sir was very clear in terms of how he wanted me to be. My first approach was, âCan I have a beard?â He said, âI am looking at you just with a plain moustache.â" Haha, seems like Riteish had to let go of his beard dreams for this one!
Kiranâs Gyan: In Bollywood, itâs not just about the glitz and glamour. Sometimes, itâs about doing whatâs right for the film and the industry. Riteish Deshmukh proves that being a star is not just about charging hefty fees but also about ensuring the survival of the film. So, Bollywood ke sitaro, thoda socho, thoda samjho â the filmâs success is everyoneâs success! đ
