Robert Pattinson and Parker Finn Join Forces to Resurrect 80s Horror Gem Possession

Hold onto your popcorn, folks! This one’s a doozy!

Oh, Bollywood, you never fail to amaze! So, Parker Finn, the genius behind Smile, has decided to dive headfirst into the deep end by remaking the 1981 cult horror classic Possession. The original, crafted by Polish auteur Andrzej Żuławski, is a psychotic roller-coaster of a film, and now Finn thinks he can bring it back to life in a way that’ll make us all scream… or at least raise an eyebrow. 🎬👀

Now, here’s where it gets juicy: Hollywood’s bigwigs are practically tripping over themselves to get a piece of this eerie pie. We’re talking A24, Netflix, Paramount, Sony, and Warner Bros. all in a savage bidding war. It’s like watching a pack of wolves fight over the last piece of meat! 🐺🍖

Robert Pattinson and Parker Finn team up to remake 80s cult horror classic Possession

According to The Hollywood Reporter (because where else would you get such drama?), Finn isn’t just stopping at directing. Oh no, he’s also writing and producing this thriller through his company, Bad Feeling. Joining him on this twisted journey is none other than Robert Pattinson, who’s producing through his own company, Icki Eneo Arlo. Whether Pattinson will grace us with his brooding presence on screen remains as mysterious as the plot of Possession itself. And let’s not forget Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee, the man who brought us horror gems like Barbarian. With this dream team, what could possibly go wrong? (Famous last words, right?) 😏

Now for the uninitiated, the original Possession is set in the gloomy backdrop of West Berlin and follows a spy, played by Sam Neill, who’s back home to a wife (Isabella Adjani) who wants out of their dreadful marriage. What follows is a descent into madness involving infidelity, neglect, murder, and a tentacled creature that would make even Cthulhu blush. Doppelgängers make an appearance too, just to keep things interesting. 🕵️‍♂️🐙

Meanwhile, our beloved Pattinson is prepping for his return to the big screen in January 2025 with Bong Joon-ho’s much-awaited sci-fi film Mickey 17. And if you can’t wait that long, you can catch his voice work in the English dub of The Boy And The Heron. Busy bee, isn’t he? 🦇🎥

Nisha’s Nutshell:
In the topsy-turvy world of Bollywood and beyond, it seems the only thing more unpredictable than a horror movie plot is the industry itself. Moral of the story? Whether it’s tentacled monsters or Hollywood bidding wars, always expect the unexpected!
