Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan: Swachch Bharat Ki Nayee Brand Ambassadors?
So, it seems like Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan have taken a break from their royal tantrums and film sets to pay tribute to the one and only Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. How, you ask? By promoting PM Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission! Bebo, looking as fab as ever, took to her Instagram to share a video with hubby Saif, where they threw some serious gyaan about cleanliness. 💁♀️
The Video That Got Everyone Talking
In the video, Saif and Kareena are seen in their home library (yes, they have a library, kyunki nawabi shauk jo hain). Saif starts with, “Namaste, main hoon Saif Ali Khan aur main hoon Kareena Kapoor Khan. Aaj main aapse ek actress ke roop me nahi balki ek ma ke roop me baat karna chahti hoon jo ki apne bachchon ke liye sab se accha chahti hai. Swachh Baharat Mission ek aisa mission hai jisme har pariwar ko bhag lena chahiye.” (Translation: Namaste, I’m Saif Ali Khan and I’m Kareena Kapoor Khan. Today I’m speaking not as an actress but as a mother who wants the best for her children. Swachh Bharat Mission is a mission in which every family should participate).
Next, Saif drops another wisdom bomb, “Humare liye it is not just about keeping our surroundings clean, it is showing our kids that a healthy environment is the foundation for a happy life.” Kareena adds, “Mahatama Gandhi ji ne kaha hai ki badlaav ki shuruwat humse hi hoti hai. On October 2, we honour his dream of a clean India.” (Dosto, even Gandhi ji approves!)
Saif Channelling His Inner Modi Bhakt
Saif goes on to praise PM Narendra Modi, saying, “Our honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has shown strong leadership by remaining committed towards turning this mission into a nationwide movement. Aur hum ye chahte hain ki humare bachche ye samjhe ki har chhota kadam, chaahe wo ek tukda uthana ho ya plastic ka upyog na karna ho, bohot important hai.” (We want our kids to understand that every small step, whether it’s picking up a piece of trash or avoiding plastic, is very important.)
The video ends with the couple urging everyone to participate in the Swachh Bharat Mission. Well, who knew the Pataudis had such a clean streak in them? 😉
