So, with Raksha Bandhan around the corner, our dazzling Shetty sisters, Shilpa and Shamita, are opening up about their unique Rakhi traditions. Picture this: two glam queens reminiscing about their childhood sans the typical Rakhi drama! Yup, you heard it right. These ladies didn’t exactly grow up tying Rakhis around bhaiyyas’ wrists. Instead, their bond has always been about sisterhood and, of course, a dash of Bollywood masala!

Shilpa, now married to the business tycoon Raj Kundra, spills the chai, “We would just visit our cousin’s house, have a good time, and then head home.” But since she married into a Punjabi parivaar, she’s now all in for the Rakhi festivities. 🎉

Shamita, on the other hand, who is living solo, plans to crash at Shilpa’s place for Rakhi. She chirps, “Because I live alone, I like to celebrate every festival with my family. I come to Munki’s (Shilpa’s nickname) house and spend the day with them.” Awww, sibling goals, right? And oh, in true Bollywood style, she adds, “It wasn’t ingrained in us that bhai ya ladke hi raksha karte hain. My sister is very protective. So, I never felt the absence of a brother.” Kaun kehta hai only bhaiyyas can save the day?

Shilpa backs her up, “We were raised with the mindset of ‘Whatever happens, you have to stick with each other’. For us, it’s the bond of blood that ties us together.” Ah, the Shetty sisterhood is stronger than any Bollywood script!

Reminiscing about their childhood nok-jhok, Shamita shares, “I have so many memories of sibling fights (laughs). But now, with age and maturity, we have come to understand each other and are really there for each other.” Maturity, huh? Shilpa chimes in, “Growing up, you look at your younger sibling as a child. Chote bhai-behen hote hi irritating hain. I just kept waiting for her to grow up so that we can be friends. Our relationship has really evolved and thank God for that. I don’t think we can do without each other!” Seriously, these ladies make sibling love look like a cakewalk.
