Guess what, darlings? The grand circus of Indian television, ‘Bigg Boss’, is roaring back with its 18th season! And yes, our very own Sultan of Swag, Salman Khan, is all set to charm us as the host once again. The spectacle unfolds in Mumbai’s Film City, thanks to the creative duo Omung Kumar and his wife Vanita. This year, they’ve cooked up a theme that’s as dramatic as a Bollywood climax: ‘Dance of Time’.
The ‘Dance of Time’ Theme: Past, Present, and Future
Hold onto your popcorn, folks! This season’s theme is a journey through time—past, present, and future. Inspired by ancient caves, the set designers have gone back in time, way back! Think ancient wall paintings and echoes of history. It’s like a trip to a time machine, minus the cheesy sci-fi effects.
A Fusion of Cave Art and Culture
Omung and Vanita have waved their creative wands to conjure up a house that screams heritage. Drawing inspiration from the Ajanta and Ellora caves, the design aims to make contestants feel like they’re part of something monumental. Every nook and cranny is adorned with art that could make even the Mona Lisa smile.
A Touch of Indian Heritage
Vanita insisted on sprinkling some Indian culture into the mix. Traditional patterns and vibrant decor elements have been woven into the design, creating a space that’s as colorful as a Holi festival. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about connecting contestants to their cultural roots.
Collaborative Creative Process
When it comes to themes, sometimes the creators pitch ideas and sometimes they just run with them. This year, the Indian theme was a suggestion from the makers, but Omung and Vanita turned it into a ‘Cave Hotel’ extravaganza. The idea was to give it an Indian film twist or perhaps a regal palace vibe, which naturally led them to the ‘cave’ concept.
107 Cameras: Big Brother is Watching
Designing this masterpiece required a lot of strategic planning, especially for the 107 cameras that will capture every raised eyebrow and whispered secret. The aim was to create a space that looks stunning from any angle, ensuring no juicy moment goes unnoticed.
Building on a Budget
The house construction involved materials like fiber and POP (plaster of Paris), steering away from wood to keep costs in check. POP allowed for grander designs without breaking the bank. It took 45 days and a dedicated team of 100-200 people working around the clock to bring this vision to life.
Revamping Old Concepts
Reviving old concepts with a fresh twist was part of the plan. Last year’s horse decor has been given a 3D makeover and transformed into stone. Vanita’s terracotta masterpiece and some vibrant paintings by Omung add unique flair to the space.
Salman’s Special Room Design
Salman’s room? Oh, it’s a blend of the familiar and the futuristic, featuring three interconnected zones. The details are hush-hush for now, but trust me, it’s going to be the talk of the town.
Harmony with Vanita
Working in harmony with Vanita is key. While disagreements happen, once there’s understanding, everything flows smoothly. It’s all about ensuring the props enhance the beauty of the house.
Nisha’s Nutshell: In Bollywood, nothing says ‘welcome back’ quite like a time-traveling cave adventure with more cameras than a paparazzi parade! Moral of the story? In the world of glitz and glam, even house decor can take you on an epic journey through time. 🎬💫
