Snehil Dixit Mehra spills the tea on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s fiery temper: ‘I almost became Heeramandi’s courtesan!’ | Hindi Movie News

Guess who’s been hobnobbing with the crème de la crème of Bollywood? None other than Snehil Dixit Mehra, or as you might know her, the fabulous BC Aunty! 🎬✨ This multi-talented diva recently played the role of an additional director on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Heeramandi. She calls herself a storyteller who thrives on acting and exudes confidence in her writing. Becoming an influencer? Totally unplanned, she says, but who cares when you’re this fabulous, right? 😎

The real tea here is her experience working with the legendary Bhansali. Now, everyone and their cat warned her about Bhansali’s infamous temper. But Snehil, being the cool cat she is, had a totally different experience. She gushed, "His principle is simple: either get convinced by his creative vision, or convince him with yours. I heard all these horror stories about his temper, but he turned out to be an amazing teacher and a perfectionist who just wants everyone to be as committed as he is. And honestly, there’s nothing wrong with that!"

She also candidly mentioned, "His stature does act against him. He’s built quite a reputation, and in today’s world, negativity just gets more clicks. So, it’s not just his stature, it’s also about the access everyone has today."

But hold on to your popcorn, because there’s more! Snehil shared a hilarious anecdote from the set. Bhansali, the prankster, once asked her to deliver a line meant for a tawaif character. Imagine her excitement, only to find out later it was all a prank! She laughed it off, saying, "Main Heeramandi ki tawaif bante bante reh gayi." 😂

For those of you eagerly waiting, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is set to return with a second season. This time, the ladies of Heeramandi will navigate the aftermath of partition and try to make it big in the Hindi or Bengali film industry. The first season, which marked Bhansali’s OTT debut, was a dazzling tale of Indian courtesans set against the backdrop of the freedom struggle. It starred big names like Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, and Sonakshi Sinha, to name a few.

And here’s a little nugget from Pratibha Ranta, who played Shama in Heeramandi. She confessed she was super nervous about meeting Sanjay Sir. Oh, the jitters of working with a legend!
