Someone Stole My Work… ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Lands in Hot Water 5 Days Before Release, Who’s Pointing Fingers at the Makers Now?

Hello, my dear Bollywood buffs! Your favorite insider, Bollywood Newshound Nisha, is back with another scoop straight from the glitzy lanes of tinsel town. And oh boy, do I have a juicy one for you today! Grab your popcorn and let’s dive into this melodrama.

Hold your horses, folks! Just when you thought the world of Bollywood couldn’t get any more theatrical, here comes a scandal hotter than a Mumbai summer. The trailer for the much-anticipated film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ starring none other than Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, has been accused of – hold your breath – plagiarism! 🙀

It all started when Hollywood concept artist Oliver Beck threw a social media tantrum. He shared some stills and outrageously claimed that the folks at Vyjayanthi Movies had nicked his artwork. Oh, the drama! Oliver, darling, welcome to Bollywood where inspiration is just another word for "let’s copy that!"

In an exclusive chat with Hindi Movie News, Oliver revealed that the makers initially contacted him for collaboration. But, as fate would have it, they couldn’t work together. Fast forward to June 10th, and Oliver’s jaw hit the floor when he saw the trailer. The resemblance to his previous work was uncanny. Or was it? 🤔

Now, Oliver, bless his artistic soul, says that while a non-artist might not catch on, all his artsy buddies instantly saw the "inspiration." It’s not an exact copy, he admits, but the similarities are too big to ignore. Coincidence or conspiracy? You decide. 🎨

Oliver further dropped a bombshell – the makers had indeed approached him, so they were well aware of his portfolio. Coincidence, you say? More like a plot twist straight out of a Bollywood script! 🎬

Now here’s where it gets juicier. Oliver isn’t sure about taking legal action. Why, you ask? Because his art wasn’t copied verbatim. Legal battles, as he explains, need clear-cut cases of plagiarism, like the infamous Sung Choi case where it was practically a copy-paste job. So, the jury’s still out on this one. ⚖️

For those living under a rock, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is directed by Nag Ashwin and promises to be a futuristic take on the epic Mahabharata. With a celebrity filled cast including Prabhas, Deepika, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan, the film is set to hit the screens on June 27th. The trailer, released earlier this month, has already garnered much attention.

Nisha’s Nutshell:
In Bollywood, darling, originality is just another illusion. When life gives you lemons, make a blockbuster film and call it "inspired."

Stay tuned, my lovelies, for more behind-the-scenes gossip and the latest Bollywood buzz. Until next time, keep your drama on screen and your scandals off it! 💋
