Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 12: The Ghosts are Laughing All the Way to the Bank!

Arre yaar, who knew horror could be so paisa-vasool? Stree 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, has been making serious dhoom-dhadaka at the box office since its release on August 15. Kya baat hai, Bollywood! The film has raked in a staggering ₹291.65 crore in its first week alone. Wah, kya baat hai!

Let’s break down the paisa game, shall we? This flick made a cool ₹8.5 crore during paid premieres. Weekend collections had everyone saying, "Abey yaar, this is huge!" Thursday to Sunday saw ₹51.8 crore, ₹31.4 crore, ₹43.85 crore, and ₹55.9 crore respectively. From Monday to Thursday, the film continued to rake in moolah with ₹38.1 crore, ₹25.8 crore, ₹19.5 crore, and ₹16.8 crore ka chillar.

Week 2? Aur bhi zabardast! The film collected ₹17.5 crore on Friday, ₹33 crore on Saturday, and ₹42.4 crore on Sunday. Monday ka collection? A cool ₹14.86 crore! Matlab, ab tak ka total is ₹399.41 crore. Bhai wah, kya blockbuster hai!

Amar Kaushik on Stree 2: From Nervous Nelly to Box Office Badshah

Director Amar Kaushik, who’s become a name to reckon with, recently chatted with PTI and spilled some interesting beans. Can you believe it? Amar never wanted his debut film to be a horror-comedy! Arre, sach mein! He had his eyes set on Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga, which he later produced.

“When Stree released, it was my first film, and let me tell you, I was very nervous. Horror film se start karna? Bilkul nahin! That was the last thing on my mind. While editing, we felt this film was different—aise koi reference point hi nahin tha,” he shared.

He added, “I was just an audience member a few years ago, craving for good cinema, kuch naya dekhne ka mann tha. Jab mauka mila, I just tried to offer something fresh.”
