"Mr. Elumalai, a valued member of the stunt union working on ‘Sardar 2,’ tragically passed away. During the wrap-up after a stunt sequence on the evening of July 16, he accidentally fell from a height of 20 feet and was seriously injured. Despite rushing him to the hospital, the doctors couldn’t save him. He passed away around 11:30 PM during medical treatment. Our thoughts and prayers are with Elumalai’s family during this difficult time."

With Elumalai’s untimely demise, the shooting of ‘Sardar 2’ is now on an indefinite pause. The movie, starring Karthi in a double role and featuring the ever-fabulous Vijay Sethupathi, was all set for a grand Diwali 2025 release. But now, who knows when the cameras will roll again?
