Suniel Shetty Shares How His Beard Turned Him Into a Post-9/11 Target in the US—Guns Not Excluded!

Guess who’s back with a bang? It’s Suniel Shetty, the man who’s not just a hero on-screen but a real-life action star too! Our very own "Anna" had a close shave with danger back in 2001, and boy, what a story it is! So, grab your popcorn and let’s dive into this filmy kahaani, straight from the horse’s mouth! 🎬🍿

Suniel Shetty, the quintessential action hero from the 90s and 2000s, known for iconic films like Mohra and Dhadkan, has always been a force to reckon with in Bollywood. Apart from his filmi career, this multi-talented man has also dabbled in entrepreneurship, proving he’s got the brains along with the brawn! 💪

But rewind to 2001, Shetty was shooting for Kaante in Los Angeles. The film, inspired by Reservoir Dogs, unfortunately coincided with the tragic 9/11 attacks. What followed was a real-life action sequence for Shetty, one that he would never forget. During a recent chat on Chanda Kochhar’s YouTube channel, Suniel recounted a hair-raising experience that left everyone gasping!

Suniel Gets the Hollywood Action Experience, and Not the Kind You’d Expect!

Picture this: Suniel, fresh off the plane in LA, still absorbing the shocking news of 9/11, suddenly finds himself in a scene straight out of an action thriller. Thanks to his bearded avatar, our Bollywood hero was mistaken for a threat and held at gunpoint by American cops! 😱

As he narrates, "Mere paas daadhi thi aur bas pakad liya!" He had simply asked a fellow elevator passenger for a room key, only for the man to freak out and call the cops. "Yeh kya ho raha hai?!" Suniel thought as he was handcuffed and made to kneel. Thankfully, the Kaante crew and a savvy hotel manager vouched for him, saving the day! A classic case of mistaken identity, thanks to his beard and some miscommunication. Talk about drama!

But our Suniel is all set to dazzle us again, returning to the big screen with Welcome to the Jungle, marking his comeback to a major film after eight long years. Bollywood ka asli action hero is back, folks! 🎥
