New Delhi, drama aficionados! Grab your popcorn because Bollywoodâs golden boy Sunny Deol is back with some tales from the past and a peek into the future. Oh, the nostalgia! đŹ
So, it turns out our favorite action hero Sunny Deol had a bit of a heart-to-heart recently. He spilled some beans about a scene from the 1997 classic Border that never saw the light of day. And trust me, itâs a doozy.
Sunny, while chatting with Ranveer Allahbadia, got all misty-eyed reminiscing about this particular scene. "There was this beautiful scene written by JP Duttaâs father. It was meant to be at the end of the film. Picture this: Iâm at a small temple, and in the background, thereâs firelight from a destroyed bunker. I walk over and see my fallen comrades, sitting around the fire," Sunny shared. đ„âš
He continued, "I speak to them, promising to take care of their families, mend their roofs, and console their mothers. To me, they were right there, in heaven, where thereâs no more fightingâŠ(breaks down)." đą But alas, the scene was cut due to the filmâs length. Yeah, you heard that right. The emotional powerhouse of a scene was left on the cutting room floor. Classic Bollywood, right?
Now, fast forward to the present, and guess what? Border 2 is officially happening! đ Written by Nidhi Dutta and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, this sequel is in the capable hands of director Anurag Singh. Shooting kicks off in October, with the film set against the backdrop of the Battle of Longewala. Expect to see Varun Dhawan joining the fray in a key role.
Mark your calendars, folks! January 23, 2026, is the grand release date. Presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and JP Duttaâs J.P. Films, this sequel promises to be just as epic as its predecessor. The original Border, for those living under a rock, was all about the 1971 India-Pakistan war and featured an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, and Akshaye Khanna.
Nishaâs Nutshell:
In the ever-dramatic world of Bollywood, deleted scenes are like those secret family recipes â sometimes theyâre the best part that never gets served. But hey, if you want to make an epic sequel, just throw in Sunny Deol, some patriotic fervor, and a dash of Varun Dhawan, and youâve got a blockbuster in the making! đżđ„
