First things first, Taapsee Pannu ka janam hua tha on August 1, 1987, to proud Delhites Dilmohan Singh Pannu and Nirmaljeet Kaur Pannu. Aur bhai, naam ke mamle mein toh kya hi kahen! Papa ne pyar se naam rakha TAPASEE, which was a tongue-twister for her school teachers. Eventually, she Bollywood-ized it to Taapsee. Legal docs might still say Tapasee, but screen pe toh Taapsee hi chalegi, boss!
Growing Up as a Delhi Sardarni
School aur college ke din sabke liye yaadgaar hote hain, and Taapsee is no different. Ashok Vihar’s Mata Jai Kaur Public School se lekar Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology tak, engineering ki degree mil gayi, but the Dilli wali vibe kabhi nahi gayi. Even today, jab bhi woh Delhi aati hai, it’s like coming back to her own territory.
Delhi vs Mumbai
Ah, the age-old Delhi vs Mumbai debate! Bhai, Taapsee ne Mumbai shift toh kar liya par dil se woh hamesha Dilli ki ladki hi rahegi. During an event, she was spotted munching on Delhi ke golgappe and declared that Mumbai’s panipuri is a big NO! Trust a Dilliwali to always stand by her chaat choices! 😜
