Taapsee Pannu Spills the Tea: Dhak Dhak Producers Ghosted After Getting Paid, Dia Saves the Day

Namaste Doston! Khabree Kiran yahan, ready to spill the beans and add some masala to your Bollywood news! Buckle up, because today’s chugli is going to make your jaws drop! 😎

So, our pyaari Taapsee Pannu, who made her grand debut as a producer in 2022 with Ajay Bahl’s spine-chilling thriller Blurr, is back with some juicy gossip about her latest venture, Dhak Dhak. Yup, the same movie that had us all dreaming of hopping on a bike and zooming off to Ladakh! 🚴‍♀️

Left in the Lurch

Aaj ka drama unfolds like this: During the second edition of Expresso, Taapsee revealed that her co-producers ditched her after pocketing their share of the moolah. Can you believe it? Uff, mukhota pehan ke chal rahe hain saare! 😤 She’s like, “It’s not a big-budget film, so studios grabbed their money and ran off without even bothering about Prints and Advertising (P&A). They just gave us odd shows and then poof! The film is gone from theatres in no time!"

Dia Mirza, our savior in shining armor, swooped in to save the day. She gave the team a space in her ghar for interviews and called over journalists. Wah, ek dost ho toh aisi! Taapsee couldn’t stop gushing about Dia and the other leading ladies standing by the film. “I was so proud to be a part of that film,” she said. Oh, Taapsee, hum bhi proud hain! 👏

About the Film

For those who missed it, Dhak Dhak is a road movie directed by Tarun Dudeja, featuring four women from different backgrounds and ages, all embarking on an epic motorbike journey to Ladakh. The film stars Dia Mirza, Sanjana Sanghi, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Fatima Sana Shaikh, all adding their own tadka to the storyline. 💫

The trailer dropped just four days before the release, thanks to the studio’s “let’s just get this over with” attitude. Taapsee explained that the studio’s release was merely a formality due to their deal with Netflix India. With such poor positioning, the film went unnoticed in theatres but later found its audience on OTT platforms.

Arre yaar, Bollywood mein yeh sab toh chalta hi rahta hai! 😅

Kiran’s Gyan

In Bollywood, it’s not just about who makes the film but who markets it. Dhak Dhak might have missed the theatre bus, but thanks to OTT, it found its true audience. So doston, remember: Zindagi mein marketing bhi zaroori hai, warna audience aapko miss kar jaayegi!
