The World of Vanity Vans and Personal Chefs â The Unfiltered Bollywood, by Nisha
Hello, my Bollywood darlings! Itâs your favourite Bollywood sleuth, Nisha, back with some juicy nuggets from Tinseltown. đ
So, Tanishaa Mukerji, thatâs Kajolâs little sis and Tanujaâs kid, has been spilling the tea about rising film production costs. Can you believe it? Our starsâ love for vanity vans and personal cooks is causing a dent in producersâ pockets. And dear Tanishaa, who graced the silver screen in Luv You Shankar, is not too pleased about it. Sheâs got her claws out for the big daddies of Bollywood production houses. đ
She gave the lowdown to IndianExpress.com â imagine, a producer approaches an actor with a âč5 crore deal for a film. But then, out of nowhere, a corporate production house swoops in, promising âč30 crores for just 30 days of work! Howâs a solo producer supposed to compete with that, huh? đ€·ââïž
Our lady Mukerji thinks itâs high time actors ease off on the pressure they put on independent producers. Sheâs not here for the whole âactors ke nakhre haiâ schtick. Itâs not fair, she says, to complain about an actorâs demands without considering the time theyâre spending on set. She even had a go at producers, pointing out that not every actor is a 9-5 type like Akshay Kumar, who clocks out and heads to the gym. Are you willing to pull 14-hour days, she asks? How about an 18-hour shift? Think about that before complaining about actorsâ so-called tantrums. đ
The starlet also touched on the age-old tradition of stars throwing tantrums. Apparently, the bigger the tantrum, the bigger the star â or so some people believe. If youâre a low-budget, independent producer, Tanishaa advises you to have a heart-to-heart with your star. Chances are, theyâll be understanding. But if youâre a big corporate house, well, you better be ready to meet some demands. đ°
Interestingly, Tanishaa also has a bone to pick with us, the audience. She blames us for accepting subpar content over the years, leading to recent film failures. With the rise of OTT platforms, people are turning their backs on theatres â even the good films are being ignored. So, whose fault is that? đŹ
Nishaâs Nutshell:
So, my lovelies, the moral of the story is, in the glitzy world of Bollywood, the bigger the star, the bigger the tantrum. Itâs all about demand and supply, after all. And remember, dear audience, you hold the power to shape the quality of cinema. So, choose wisely! Until next time, keep the popcorn popping and the gossip flowing. đżđ„đ
