The First Time I Laid Eyes On It…

Bollywood’s glittering world isn’t always about glamorous red carpets and opulent premieres. Sometimes, it’s about the humble beginnings that remind us of where our superstars started – like a not-so-great cup of chai! 🎬☕

Picture this: the year was 1994, and Tigmanshu Dhulia, now a celebrated director, was just another assistant trying to find his feet in the industry. He shared an amusing tidbit about none other than Shah Rukh Khan during an interview, taking us back to the days when SRK was still climbing the Bollywood ladder.

A Chai Tale with Tigmanshu Dhulia & SRK

Dhulia hilariously recalled a day when he was asked to brew some tea for the team on SRK’s TV show, Fauji. The twist? He had to use a microwave – a gadget as alien to him as a UFO landing on Marine Drive! 😂 Shekhar Kapur, the legendary director, had suggested this innovative idea, leaving Dhulia fumbling with buttons and settings.

"Shekhar ji ne kaha, ‘Chai bana de yar.’ Pehli bar maine dekha tha ki microwave kaise hota hai," he chuckled, reminiscing about the ordeal. "Yet, I made a terrible tea and served it to Shah Rukh Khan," he admitted with a laugh. Imagine SRK, the future King Khan, sipping on that ghatiya chai, probably wondering if he’d need a doctor! 😂

This lighthearted story showcases SRK’s playful side long before he was crowned Bollywood’s Baadshah. No diva antics, just genuine camaraderie and a grin to match.

From Chai Blunders to Bollywood Badshah

Despite the chai disaster, Dhulia and SRK’s friendship brewed stronger. Both went on to achieve extraordinary milestones, with Shah Rukh Khan ruling Bollywood and Tigmanshu making his mark as a filmmaker. It’s tales like these that remind us of the simplicity of their beginnings – no airs, no tantrums, just two passionate people and a disastrous cup of chai!

Kiran’s Gyan: Bollywood ki duniya mein, choti choti baatein badi badi yaadein ban jaati hain. Moral of the story: Even the biggest stars can start with a microwave mishap! 🫖✨

Stay tuned for more fun and filmy gupshup, because in Bollywood, there’s never a dull moment!
