But here’s a twist in the kahani – Anurag Kashyap, the maverick director, apparently gave the cold shoulder to Sushant when he wanted to collaborate just weeks before his untimely exit. In an old chit-chat session with Showsha, Anurag unveiled his regret saga. He reminisced about being miffed not just with Sushant but with Abhay Deol too. Kaise? Well, Sushant was reaching out to Anurag for a project while Anurag was busy holding onto grudges. “Aree, woh toh mujhe bhaav nahi de raha tha pehle,” Kashyap said, feeling guilty for not picking up the phone when it mattered. Flashback to September 2020: Anurag Kashyap, in a moment of introspection, shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp chat with Sushant’s manager. And to top it off, Anurag explained, “This chat is from three weeks before he passed away…”. He was in no mood to work with Sushant, citing personal reasons. The post, however, left the online junta upset. Sushant’s death investigation, a rollercoaster in itself, even saw Rhea Chakraborty, his then-girlfriend, get embroiled in legal tangles.
