Arrey bhai, Bollywood ka drama kabhi khatam nahi hota! This time, it’s Mukesh Khanna giving his two cents on Saif Ali Khan and the infamous Adipurush. Let’s dive into this masaledar khabar!
Mukesh Khanna, our very own Shaktimaan turned Bollywood critic, has been on a roll lately. Known for his sharp tongue and no-holds-barred opinions, he’s been making waves by calling out the who’s who of the film industry. Aur ab, his latest target? Saif Ali Khan and director Om Raut for their epic (pun intended) misadventure, Adipurush.
Adipurush released on June 16, 2023, and boy, did it stir up a storm! Expectations were sky-high, but the first trailer itself turned it into troll fodder. The film faced flak for allegedly distorting the sacred Ramayana and using questionable language.
Mukesh Khanna, never one to mince words, had a lot to say about it. Sharing his thoughts on his YouTube channel, he lashed out at the makers and their choice of language. But it was Saif’s comment on making Raavan humorous that really got his goat. Khanna exclaimed, "Raavan may be scary, but how can he look like Chandrakanta’s Shivdutt – vishpurush? He was a pandit. You will be shocked how someone can imagine and design Raavan in this manner.”
And if you thought he was done, think again! Mukesh Khanna didn’t stop there. He roasted Saif for daring to add humor to Raavan’s character. “I remember when the film was announced, Saif had said he’ll make the character humourous. I had said then as well – ‘Who the hell are you to change characters of our epic? Apne dharm mein kar ke dikhao. Sir kaatne lagenge (you will be beheaded),’” he fumed. Despite his warnings, the film still tried to turn Raavan into a comedic character.
Not sparing director Om Raut either, Khanna questioned his casting choices. "Om Raut ko Raavan ke liye sirf Saif Ali Khan mila? Isse uncha character industry mein reh nahi gaya kya? Raavan kaddavar tha, isko jugaad se banaya. Raavan kam sasta smuggler zyada dikhta hai,” he quipped.
Kiran’s Gyan: Bollywood mein sab kuch chalta hai, bas logic nahi! Saif ko Raavan banana aur usse funny banana, it’s like making Gabbar Singh sing lullabies! But hey, that’s Bollywood for you – unpredictable and full of surprises. Keep your popcorn ready, kyunki picture abhi baaki hai mere dost! 🍿
