TV Channel Steals Script After Proposal, Imran Khan Says ‘Tried to Meet, But…’

Imran Khan’s Plot Twist: The Story Thief!

Oh Bollywood, you never cease to amaze me! This is Bollywood Newshound Nisha, your ever-cynical, ever-sarcastic snoop, here to spill the masala on the latest B-Town drama. 🎬✨

New Delhi: So, our long-lost heartthrob, Imran Khan, has recently spilt the beans on how a television channel executive shamelessly swiped one of his story ideas. Yup, you heard it right! In 2005, after completing his education, Imran returned to India with dreams of becoming a director and writer. Acting wasn’t even on his radar back then. He put together a folder of his stories and, without telling a soul, pitched them to a TV channel.

In an interview with ‘Humans of Bombay,’ Imran shared, "The channel praised my ideas but then ghosted me. One fine day, an actress friend told me she had been cast in a role that eerily resembled the outline of my script."

DĂŠjĂ  Vu Script Moment
He continued, "I went to meet them, and lo and behold, the script they handed me was strikingly similar to my storyline. They eventually admitted it and proposed turning it into an episode. I tried reaching out to them to ask what they did with my work, but they never responded."

Imran Khan Learns a Hard Lesson
This ordeal didn’t just change Imran; it also led him to meet Abbas Tyrewala, with whom he later worked on his debut film, ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na.’ Imran decided to give screen tests for a film, thinking that if he became a successful actor, he’d gain recognition and leverage his acting credentials to make the films he wanted. For a while now, Imran has been off the grid, dealing with personal turmoil with his wife and struggling to find suitable projects.

Nisha’s Nutshell
So, what’s the moral of this filmy tale? If you’re pitching your story ideas in Bollywood, better hire a lawyer first! Or, just keep a backup career as an actor; you never know when you might need it! 🤷‍♀️🎥
