Utkarsh Sharma’s Flick Faces the Ultimate Bollywood Litmus Test: Can It Hold a Candle to the Bachchan-Malini Classic?

Hello, Bollywood buffs and gossip lovers! Today, let’s dive into the latest film chatter with your very own Bollywood detective, Khabree Kiran. Get ready for some masala-filled insights! 🍿

Utkarsh Sharma’s ‘Vanvaas’ vs. ‘Baghban’: The Battle of the Generations

Arre, kya zamana aa gaya hai! Utkarsh Sharma and Nana Patekar’s ‘Vanvaas’ just aired on satellite, and everyone is busy comparing it to the old classic, ‘Baghban’. Utkarsh bhaiya, finally breaking his maun vrat, has decided to clarify the confusion. While both films might talk about parents being deserted by their beloved children, Utkarsh insists they are as different as chalk and cheese!

He chirped, "Agar aapne film dekhi hai, toh aapko samajh ayega ki ye totally alag hai. ‘Baghban’ aur ‘Vanvaas’ ka genre toh ek hi hai—family drama—but that’s where the similarity ends. ‘Baghban’ was all about parents ka abandonment combined with a love story. ‘Vanvaas’, on the other hand, is a comedy that pokes at a different social problem altogether. Aaj kal ka unfortunate trend dekho, jaise Mahakumbh mein lost parents mil jaate hain! Kahin bhi chale jao, North se South, people are abandoning their parents. And mind you, it’s not due to lack of education or poverty. Highly padhe-likhe log bhi aajkal aisa kar rahe hain!"

The Stark Reality Behind ‘Vanvaas’

Utkarsh further pointed out how ‘Vanvaas’ is inspired by real-life incidents, shining a light on society’s dark side. "This reality needs to change," he emphasized. "Aur jinke relations ache hain apne parents ke saath, dekho kaise unka bond aur strong ho jayega after watching this film. So while genre-wise comparison with ‘Baghban’ is theek, otherwise both films are poles apart."

For those of you jo abhi tak unaware hain, ‘Vanvaas’ got lots of claps for its emotional storyline and honest performances, but alas, the box office numbers hugged the floor. Directed by Anil Sharma, the film also features talents like Simratt Kaur Randhawa and Rajpal Yadav alongside Nana Patekar and Utkarsh Sharma.

Kiran’s Gyan:

In the world of Bollywood, koi comparison ki zarurat nahi hai! Every film has its own tadka, bas samajhne wali baat ye hai, ki har story ka apna charm hota hai. So, keep the popcorn ready and enjoy the show, kyunki picture abhi baaki hai, mere dost! 🎬
