Vikrant Massey Speaks Out: Let’s Certify, Not Censor Digital Content – ‘Nudity and Swearing Are Everyday Realities’

Hey there, Bollywood buffs! It’s your favorite Bollywood Newshound Nisha back with another scoop, ready to spill the chai on all things filmy!

So, Vikrant Massey recently graced us with his pearls of wisdom at the Hindi Movie News Dialogues in Varanasi. And boy, did he have a lot to say about censorship on digital platforms! 🎬 Let’s dive in, shall we?

Vikrant, our very own Mirzapur star, got candid about the balancing act between creative freedom and responsible content consumption. When asked about the elephant in the room—censorship on digital content—he quipped, “It’s a tightrope. We bear the responsibility for what we and our children watch. As adults, we should have the freedom to express ourselves. If you think cinema is spoiling kids, think again. Their school, their peers, even whether daddy dearest smokes or chews tobacco, all play a role.”

Well, Vikrant, you’ve got a point. But hey, what about those age-appropriate certifications? Massey didn’t miss a beat, emphasizing the need for ratings like 18+, 21+, and PG (Parental Guidance). According to him, “Censorship has its place in cinema, but digital platforms should be a free-for-all. The line between creativity and absurdity is razor-thin. Sure, we have nudity and abusive language around us, but we can’t suffocate creative expression. Boundaries, yes. Strangulation, no.”

Preach, Vikrant! But here’s the kicker: he believes storytelling is deeply rooted in reality. “Cinema and society are reflections of each other. Age-appropriate certification is essential, not strict censorship. Parents should guide what their kids watch, but adults? We should pick and choose our content freely.”

As he wrapped up his enlightening sermon, he had some parting words for the audience: “Thank you for coming. Work hard. India is doing phenomenally well, but there’s still much to do. The youth must stop cheating and work honestly. Collectively, as a society and a country, we will progress. Stay safe, stay healthy.”

Well, folks, there you have it. Straight from the horse’s mouth.

Nisha’s Nutshell
In the grand Bollywood circus, creative freedom is the tightrope walker, and censorship is the net. But remember, folks, it’s the balance that keeps the show going! 🎪

Till next time, keep your popcorn ready and your opinions handy. Tata!
