Oh hello, my Bollywood buffs! It’s your favorite snoop, Bollywood Newshound Nisha, back with some masala straight from the heart of Mumbai! Grab your popcorn, because this one’s going to be juicy!
Mumbai: Vicky Kaushal, our National Award-winning heartthrob, dropped a gem on Tuesday that even Iron Man would be envious of. At a special event in Chitra Cinemas, Vicky, along with director Laxman Utekar, teased fans with a glimpse of their upcoming magnum opus, Chhaava. The film, set to release on December 6, stars Vicky as the legendary Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
Vicky, clearly feeling the weight of his historical armor, pointed out, "Why do those Western folks make movies like Avengers? Simple. They don’t have real superheroes like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj." Ouch, take that, Hollywood! 🎬
Playing Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of the founder of the Maratha Empire, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is no small feat. Vicky described it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. "The entire team has poured their sweat and soul into this film. We’ve got real superheroes in our history. Just look at Sambhaji and Shivaji—Marvel’s got nothing on them," he said, probably making Thor rethink his career choices.
Monday saw the official unveiling of Chhaava‘s first look on social media, right after its teaser hit cinema halls alongside Maddock Films’ latest flick, Stree 2.
Joining Vicky in this epic saga is the ever-charming Rashmika Mandanna as Chatrapati Maharani Yesubai, Sambhaji’s wife. And if that wasn’t enough star power for you, brace yourself for Akshaye Khanna portraying the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Talk about a power-packed cast!
To add a cherry on top of this historical sundae, the musical maestro A R Rahman has composed the score, with the screenplay penned by Rishi Virmani. Seriously, could this film get any more epic?
Nisha’s Nutshell: In the grand tapestry of Bollywood, our real superheroes make even the Avengers look like they need a power boost. Moral of the story? When in doubt, always go desi! 🦸♂️🦸♀️
