When Akshay Kumar Needed Real Tears for Sarfira: ‘Glycerine is for Amateurs’ | Bollywood

Hey Bollywood Buffs! It’s your favorite Khabree Kiran here, ready to spill the chai on the latest happenings in B-town! This time, we’ve got some juicy tidbits about our very own Khiladi, Akshay Kumar, and his latest flick, Sarfira. Buckle up, kyunki yeh news hai full-on drama!

Akshay Kumar Gets Real in Sarfira: No Glycerine, Only Emotions!

So, Akshay Kumar is all set to hit the big screen with Sarfira, a film directed by Sudha Kongara, which is a remake of the Tamil hit Soorarai Pottru. And guess what, doston? Akki baba has been diving deep into his emotional well to bring authenticity to his scenes. In an interview with Galatta Plus, our Khiladi revealed how he taps into his own life’s traumas to deliver those tear-jerking moments. Talk about dedication! 🎬

What Akshay Said

Now, here’s the masaledaar part. Akshay confessed, "There are many things in the film which I could relate to. This character lost his father, the trauma he went through… When that scene was happening, to be honest, I went into that kind of trauma, when I lost my father. I don’t use glycerine to cry, I use my own emotions to cry. When you see the film, I’m really crying because I have gone into that mood."

Sudha Kongara, the film’s director, had to deal with Akshay getting so into character that he couldn’t snap out of it even after she yelled "cut." Imagine, Sudha ji calling "cut" and Akki still there, head down, tears flowing! 😢 "I used to request her to take longer shots, because then, I’m staying with the same emotion," he added. Sudha, being the sweetheart she is, even set up 2-3 cameras to capture Akki’s emotional magic. Kya dedication hai yaar! 🎥

More Details on Sarfira

Sarifira stars Akshay as Vir Mhatre, a man on a mission to make air travel accessible to all by launching a low-cost airline. Inspired by GR Gopinath’s memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey, this film promises to be an emotional rollercoaster. Co-starring Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal, this movie is already creating a buzz. The original Tamil version won five National Awards, so no pressure Akki! 😜

Kiran’s Gyan 🧠

Kya baat hai!
