So, guess whoâs doing the happy dance? Our very own Manasi Parekh! The actress is thrilled to bits after bagging the National Film Award for Best Actress. Wah bhai wah, ye toh badi achievement hai! Parekh is on cloud nine for her role in the Gujarati film "Kutch Express," sharing the spotlight with Nithya Menen, who won for the Tamil movie "Thiruchitrambalam."
Now, let me tell you, Manasiâs journey is no less than a Bollywood script itself. From playing roles in daily soaps like "India Calling" and "Kasautii Zindagii Kay" to slaying it in Gujarati cinema with movies like "Golkeri" and "Dear Father"âsheâs done it all. But wait, thereâs more! Ravi Varman, the ace cinematographer, scooped up the National Award for Best Cinematography for "Ponniyin Selvan-1." He thanked Mani Ratnam and the entire team on Instagram for their tireless efforts. Sahi hai bhai, team work makes the dream work!
Naushad Sadar Khan won for Best Lyrics for the Haryanvi film "Fouja" with his song "Salaami." He expressed his disbelief and joy on X (formerly known as Twitter). Kya baat hai, yeh toh sach mein miracle hai!
And how can we forget "Gulmohar," starring the evergreen Sharmila Tagore and the phenomenal Manoj Bajpayee? This gem bagged the Best Hindi Film and Best Dialogue Writing awards. Bajpayee even got a Special Mention for his outstanding performance. Director Chittella canât stop gushing about his amazing cast and crew, especially Manoj and Sharmila. âGulmoharâ is all about a family saying goodbye to their ancestral home and was released on Disney Hotstar in 2023. Bikram Duggal from Disney Star is over the moon with the filmâs success, and rightly so. Aise hi family-oriented stories banao, digital age mein toh yeh hi chalega!
