Oh, Bollywood! The land of glitz, glamour, and bizarre family traditions! Buckle up, doston, because Khabree Kiran is here to spill the beans, served with a side of sarcasm and a sprinkle of Hindi slangs. Today’s masala is about none other than Esha Deol, who recently shared some very interesting tidbits about her conservative upbringing.
Esha Deol’s Conservative Chronicles!
Esha Deol, the daughter of Bollywood royalty Dharmendra and Hema Malini, has never been shy about dishing out details from her personal life. Recently, she chatted with Hauterrfly about the sanskari restrictions she faced growing up. Hold on to your popcorn, because this one’s a doozy! Esha revealed that during her periods, she wasn’t allowed to pray at temples. Yep, you heard me right. During those days of the month, it was a strict no-entry policy at the mandir. 😲
"I learnt about menstruations and periods during sex education at school," Esha shared. "Our school had sex education, and they taught us well and at the right time. And it is important. There are a few parents who feel uncomfortable and shy. We were not allowed to go to the temple and pray. When it is done, you can wash your hair and then you can pray. That’s just an orthodox way and I follow. I respect it if that’s a part of the house you live in."
Oh, bhai sahab, the drama! It seems like even Bollywood’s glitterati can’t escape the clutches of age-old traditions. 😅
From Silver Screen to Small Screen
Esha’s acting journey has been no less dramatic. She made her Bollywood debut with Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe and went on to star in a slew of films like Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa, and Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne. She even rocked the screen in hits like Yuva, Dhoom, and No Entry. More recently, she graced our screens in the 2021 short film Ek Duaa and Ajay Devgn’s thriller series Rudra: The Edge of Darkness. And let’s not forget her latest venture, Hunter: Tootega Nahi Todega, where she shared the screen with Suniel Shetty.
Family Matters
Esha’s personal life has been as eventful as her career. She tied the knot with Bharat Takhtani in a low-key wedding back in June 2012. Their family grew with the arrival of their daughters, Radhya in 2017 and Miraya in 2019. However, in a twist worthy of a Bollywood script, Esha and Bharat announced their separation in February 2024 after 12 years of marriage. Kya karein, life mein drama toh hamesha hota hai!
Kiran’s Gyan:
Bollywood ki duniya mein, conservatism aur modernity ka ultimate tug-of-war chal raha hai! You might be a star, but ghar ke rules toh follow karne padenge, beta! 😜 So, the next time you’re feeling rebellious, remember Esha Deol and her temple troubles. After all, even stars have to bow down to orthodox family traditions!
Stay tuned for more Bollywood gupshup, only with your favourite, Khabree Kiran. Aur haan, apne doston ke saath share karna mat bhoolna! 😉
