When Saif Ali Khan Wished He Had Bared His Backside in Omkara: “That Could’ve Been My Best Role”

Arre bhaiyo aur behno, gather around as your favorite Bollywood ki chugalkhor, Khabree Kiran, spills the beans once more! This time it’s about the Nawab of Pataudi himself, Saif Ali Khan, and his ‘shoulda, coulda, woulda’ moment from the film Omkara. Trust me, this one’s a paisa vasool tale!

Saif Ali Khan, the suave Nawab who’s played everything from a prince charming to a villainous Langda Tyagi, has an interesting story from the sets of Omkara. Picture this, yaar—Saif was asked to do a scene sans his dhoti, by none other than the maverick director Vishal Bhardwaj. But alas, our Nawab chickened out. 😜

Omkara, a masala-packed adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello, was a film with a star filled cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, and Konkona Sen Sharma. Saif’s portrayal of Langda Tyagi was a career-defining moment, but there’s a little secret he shared on Neha Dhupia’s podcast, No Filter Neha. Apparently, Vishal Bhardwaj wanted Saif to do a scene with his ‘bum to the camera’—dimly lit, of course! 🌚

Now, Saif being the witty chap he is, quipped that Vishal and the director of photography should join him in their birthday suits. "Main akela thodi na khada hoon! Tum bhi toh karo!" was his cheeky response. But since Vishal refused to direct in his birthday suit, Saif decided to keep his pants on. 😂

Fast forward a bit, and Saif found himself regretting this decision after seeing John Abraham’s half-btt steal the show in Dostana. "I could have been Bollywood’s pioneering btt on screen," he mused later. Oh, Saif, hindsight is 20/20, isn’t it? 🤦‍♂️

And, by the way, in a twist more dramatic than any Bollywood climax, Saif recently made headlines for being attacked by an intruder. Thankfully, our Nawab is safe and sound and out of the hospital. Phew! Meanwhile, he’s been busy with his latest project, Devara: Part 1.

Kiran’s Gyan: In Bollywood, sometimes it’s not the roles you take but the ones you don’t that make the juiciest gossip! Remember, doston, whether you bare it all on-screen or not, it’s all about the kahani and the drama! 🎬
