Greetings, my Bollywood Buffs! It’s your favorite snoop, Bollywood Newshound Nisha, here to spice up your day with a juicy tidbit from the world of glitz, glamour, and drama!
So, let’s dive right in, shall we? Recently, our beloved Saira Banu has turned into quite the raconteur on social media, sharing all sorts of tales about her late husband, the legendary Dilip Kumar. And guess what? On Vyjayanthimala’s 91st birthday, she dropped quite the bombshell involving a tiff and eventual truce between the two screen legends. 🍿
First off, Saira Banu shared some charming photos of herself with Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala. Along with these, she penned a heartfelt, albeit lengthy, note. Ah, nostalgia!
When Vyjayanthimala Pinched Saira’s Cheek and Left a Mark!
Saira reminisced, "Happy birthday to my favorite Akka (Vyjayanthimala)! The first time we met, I was just a star-struck girl visiting Mehboob Studio with my mom. The second time, I had already started working on ‘Junglee.’ At a film premiere, you lovingly pinched my cheek. I was so smitten, I didn’t wash my face for a week!" 😜
The Great Misunderstanding
In her post, Saira continued, "You and Saheb (Dilip Kumar) shared a wonderful rapport. Your mutual understanding translated into sizzling onscreen chemistry. But, alas, a misunderstanding brewed, and Akka got replaced in ‘Ram Aur Shyam’ after just a few days of shooting."
A Tale of Reconciliation
But wait, the plot thickens! Saira went on to reveal, "Despite the fallout, Saheb and Akka, along with her husband Dr. Bali, continued to meet at events and dinners in Delhi. During one such gathering, while Saheb and Dr. Bali were engrossed in conversation, Akka and I were left to our own devices. The tension between Saheb and Akka was palpable, until I, being the peacemaker extraordinaire, decided enough was enough. I orchestrated a reconciliation, and voila, they were friends again! A proud moment for me, indeed."
And, oh, did I mention the jealousy? Saira unashamedly admitted she was a bit green-eyed about the camaraderie between Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala. Yet, she was the one to mend their rift. Talk about being the bigger person! 👏
