Picture this: Ajay Devgn and Tabu, two of Bollywood’s finest, are back to tug at our heartstrings with their new film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the movie promises a rollercoaster of emotions and is set to hit the big screens on July 5. But hold on, kya baat hai with their latest song, Kisi Roz? 🧐
The song, sung by Maithili Thakur and composed by the legendary MM Kreem, has just dropped. Manoj Muntashir has penned the lyrics, and it’s the third track from the movie’s soundtrack. The previous songs, Ae Dil Zara and Tu, had mixed reactions. Tu was a devotional track inspired by Chhand, and Ae Dil Zara managed to touch a few hearts. But Kisi Roz? Hmm, not so much.
Here’s the lowdown: Maithili Thakur’s voice, while unique, seems like a mismatch for the heavy-duty emotions that the song aims to convey. Manoj Muntashir’s lyrics are all about heartbreak and depth, but Maithili’s folkish, unrefined voice fails to hit the emotional notes. It’s almost like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. 🌀
MM Kreem’s choice of Maithili as the singer has left many scratching their heads. The song’s lyrics are laden with sorrow, yet Maithili’s voice lacks the necessary pathos. It’s like ordering masala chai and getting plain doodh (milk) instead. 😒
The composition tries to lean towards a semi-classical style to accommodate Maithili’s voice, but even that doesn’t quite gel with the poignant words that are supposed to capture the pain of Tabu and Ajay’s characters. Kuch toh gadbad hai, boss.
Wouldn’t a haunting voice like Jonita Gandhi’s, reminiscent of Ghar from Jab Harry Met Sejal, or Bhavya Gandhi’s soulful rendition of Ranjha from Queen, have been a better fit? It seems like the song missed its emotional mark by quite a distance.
Here’s hoping Kisi Roz will make more sense in the context of the movie, but for now, it’s a bit of a dud on its own. 😬
Kiran’s Gyan:
Bollywood mein talent ki kami nahi hai, but jab gaadi ka driver hi galat ho, toh destination tak pahunchna mushkil hai! Remember, choosing the right voice for a song is as crucial as selecting the right actor for a role. Varna, it’s like casting a comedian in a tragic role – bas rang nahi jamta!
Stay tuned for more juicy updates, doston! 🍿
