Bollywood ka Greek God, Hrithik Roshan, has been strutting his stuff in romantic and action flicks for over two decades now. From War to Bang Bang, Krrish to Dhoom 2, and even romantic hits like Kaabil and Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Hrithik has had us drooling and dreaming. But ek minute, where’s the comedy, bhai? Apart from the slight chuckles in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Hrithik has kept comedy at arm’s length.

Sure, he’s dabbled in comedic moments in flicks like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, and Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. But a full-on comedy? Ab tak nahi. Maybe comedy wasn’t his cup of chai back in the day, but never say never, right? Recently, Hrithik ne khud reveal kiya why he’s been shying away from comedy.

After wrapping up Fighter, our hero opened up about his future projects and genres. Turns out, Hrithik is itching to dive into situational, straight-faced comedy à la The Hangover. He’s keen on roles that blend multiple characters with situational humor. He’s also game for farce and dark comedy over slapstick or parody.

He candidly shared, “There’s one thing that I’m really dying to do, but the stars haven’t aligned, and I haven’t found the script, which is this situational straight-faced comedy. But I don’t see that kind of stuff being written. What happens is that when we look at comedy, I don’t even mind if it’s dark. That’s also something I would be okay with, but when I see comedy happening and being written, they’re trying to make you laugh, and everyone’s aware of it that this is funny.”

Hrithik also highlighted the challenge of nailing comedy, which demands the actor to remain serious while the audience laughs their heads off. Samajh rahe ho?

Meanwhile, Hrithik was last seen flying high as a fighter pilot in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter. Up next, he’s all set to don the uniform again as Major Kabir Dhaliwal in War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji. And guess what? He’ll be squaring off against South superstar Jr NTR. Ab yeh toh blockbuster banne wali hai!

Kiran’s Gyan:

Comedy is serious business, folks! If Hrithik manages to crack us up while keeping his face straight, you know Bollywood’s comedy scene is about to get a major upgrade. So, Hrithik bhai, bas script mil jaye aur phir dekho, sabko hasa-hasa ke pagal kar dena!
