Why Nick Jonas is Fondly Dubbed ‘National Jiju’ by Desi Fans: ‘I’m India’s Big Brother’ | Bollywood

Guess who’s back with the latest tadka from Bollywood? It’s your very own Khabree Kiran! Ready to uncover what’s cooking in the land of glitz and glamour? Grab your chai and get cozy!

Nick Jonas: India’s Favorite Jiju Spills the Beans!

So, Nick Jonas, or as we lovingly call him, ‘National Jiju’, recently had a chit-chat with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. Aur kya? Our Jiju spilled the beans on why he’s been crowned with this oh-so-adorable title by his Indian fans. 📸

In his chat with Jimmy, Nick said, “As you know I am married to Priyanka. When we got married this hashtag started. I was ‘National Jiju.’ Jiju means elder sister’s husband, so effectively I’m the older brother to India.” Arey wah, kya baat hai! Host Jimmy even showed a clip from a Jonas Brothers concert in India where Joe and Kevin Jonas proudly introduced Nick as “Jiju.” 🤣

Nick & Priyanka: The Love Saga

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Nick and Priyanka tied the knot on December 1, 2018, in a grand ceremony at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. Bollywood ki shaadiyan are always larger than life, but this one took the cake! The duo welcomed their daughter Malti Marie on January 15, 2022, via surrogacy. Malti is a sweet nod to Priyanka’s mom, Dr. Madhu Chopra’s middle name, while Marie honors Nick’s mother, Denise Jonas. Aww, kitna pyaara! 💖

Nick’s Dhamakedar Career

Now, let’s talk about Nick’s journey in the world of music and movies. His debut album, Nicholas Jonas, came out in 2005. With hit singles like Chains, Jealous, Good Thing, and Bacon, he’s a sensation. And did you know? He first acted in the musical play A Christmas Carol (2000). His next Broadway stint, The Last Five Years, is set for a 2025 release.

Nick’s Hollywood innings began with Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009). From there, he went on to star in blockbusters like Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017), Jumanji: The Next Level (2019), and Love Again (2023) where he shared screen space with wifey Priyanka. Recently, he appeared in The Good Half (2024), a comedy-drama by Robert Schwartzman. Next up, he’ll be seen in John Carney’s musical-comedy Power Ballad in 2025. Busy bee, this Jiju! 🐝

Kiran’s Gyan:

“Bollywood aur Hollywood ka milan, wah re wah! When Bollywood stars marry, it’s like a blockbuster film with drama, romance, and of course, a lot of music! Nick, our National Jiju, is just the latest example of how love knows no boundaries. Shaadi ho toh aisi!” 👰🤵
