Namaste, Bollywood aficionados! Khabree Kiran back with another spicy tale from the world of Hindi cinema. This one is about the lovely Zareen Khan and her rollercoaster journey with our very own Bhaijaan, Salman Khan. Grab your chai and pakoras, kyunki yeh news masaledaar hai.
Zareen Khan made her grand Bollywood debut with "Veer" in 2010. Imagine starting your career with none other than Salman Khan! Laga hoga ki zindagi set hai, right? But, alas, Zareen’s journey wasn’t a bed of roses. Instead of being showered with offers, she found herself constantly compared to Katrina Kaif, Salman’s other famous heroine. 😅
While most actresses dream of their career taking off after a debut with the mighty Salman, Zareen’s story was quite the opposite. Many in tinsel town thought she was arrogant because of her connection with the "Tiger" star. The poor girl had no work for a long time after "Veer".
Zareen spilled the beans on Haarsh Limbachiyaa and Bharti Singh’s YouTube podcast. She confessed she was terrified of Salman. “Salman ke saath toh hamesha hi darr rehta hai. More than fear, it was intimidation. But Salman is such a sweetheart, he never made me feel that way. He’d crack a joke or do something to make me comfortable. During the shoot, I was like a creep just staring at him,” she said. 😂
This was a dream come true for Zareen, who used to chase Salman on his bicycle in Bandra during her college days. Sitting next to him on set, she often found herself wondering if it was all real.
However, life took a turn for the worse as she was constantly compared to Katrina Kaif. Initially, Zareen was thrilled. “Life after Veer was very bad for me, I got a lot of criticism. The film was a life-changing moment for me. Initially, I felt very happy that I was being compared to Katrina Kaif, but within the industry, things kept getting worse. For me, who used to be overweight, being compared to Katrina was huge, but it all backfired. I felt like a lost child in the industry, plus there was hesitation. I didn’t know most people here but they started to feel I was arrogant because Salman Khan launched me.” 😔
On the professional front, Zareen was last seen in "Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele" (2019). Her filmography, though limited, includes notable films like "Housefull 2", "Hate Story 3", and "1921". One wonders if she ever got the roles she truly deserved.
