Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s Magic Continues
Arre bhai, so Ajay Devgn and Tabu have teamed up for the 10th time in Neeraj Pandey’s latest directorial, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. And guess what? This film has managed to rake in ₹2 crore on its opening day. Not bad, huh? Especially when you compare it to Sudhanshu Saria’s spy thriller Ulajh starring Janhvi Kapoor and Gulshan Devaiah, which only collected ₹1.10 crore. Lagta hai Ajay aur Tabu ka jadoo phir chal gaya!
But wait, hold your horses! Before we get too excited, let’s not forget their past performances. Remember Nishikant Kamat’s 2015 crime thriller Drishyam? That one opened at ₹5.8 crore. And its sequel, Drishyam 2 in 2022, earned a whopping ₹15.38 crore on its first day. Wah bhai wah! Aur phir 2017 ki Rohit Shetty’s comedy Golmaal Again? That one was a Diwali dhamaka, pulling in ₹30 crore on day one. Jaadu hai ya kuch aur? 🪄
Not to mention their 2019 romantic drama De De Pyaar De, which collected ₹8.5 crore on its opening day. And let’s not forget last year’s action thriller Bholaa, directed by Ajay himself, which made ₹11 crore on day one. So, in comparison, maybe Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha is a bit thanda?
Now, let’s talk about this latest film. It also stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Shantanu Maheshwari, and Saiee Manjrekar. It’s touted as a musical love story that spans over 20 years, from 2002 to 2023. Originally set to release on July 5, it was postponed to avoid clashing with Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s action thriller Kill and the sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD. Smart move, right? Or maybe not. 😅
According to a review, "Ajay Devgn and Tabu in a romance sounded fresher on paper than the end product that landed on screen." Ouch! Lagta hai yeh pyaar thoda pheeka pad gaya.
