Well, well, well, looks like Akshay Kumar’s latest, Sarfira, is doing a stellar job… of underperforming. Directed by Sudha Kongara, this flick managed to scrape together a grand total of Rs. 17.85 crore in its first week. Not exactly setting the box office on fire, is it?
Opening day saw a lukewarm Rs. 2.50 crore. But wait, there’s a twist! The weekend brought a ray of hope, with Day 2 collections jumping to Rs. 4.50 crore—an 80% increase! Day 3 was even better, amassing Rs. 5.50 crore, a further 22% boost. But don’t get too excited…
Because from Day 4 onwards, it was all downhill. A nosedive, if you will. The film’s earnings plummeted to Rs. 1.40 crore, a shocking 74% drop from Day 3. Days 5 and 6 saw a tiny glimmer of hope with Rs. 1.30 crore and Rs. 1.50 crore respectively. But Day 7 brought another dip, with a measly Rs. 1.15 crore. So, yeah, not exactly a blockbuster week.
As Sarfira limps into its second week, one has to wonder if it can muster anything significant to its tally. Spoiler alert: Lifetime collections are expected to stay south of Rs. 25 crore.
