The kind of buzz Munjya is generating at the box office right now is truly mind-blowing. After surprising everyone with a collection of Rs. 4.21 crores on Friday, the film took it up a notch on Saturday, raking in Rs. 7.40 crores. Even the staunchest supporters of the film couldn’t have predicted this turn of events.
The film’s success is not limited to urban areas, as its appeal is reaching even the remote corners. This broad reach beyond the multiplex market is a significant advantage. With word of mouth now spreading, it’s hard to predict where the film will end up. Having already amassed Rs. 11.61 crores, it’s almost certain to cross the Rs. 20 crores mark by the end of the weekend.
In the meantime, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi also saw a surge in collections on Saturday. Despite aiming to surpass the Rs. 2 crores mark, the film faced stiff competition from Munjya. Nevertheless, after earning Rs. 1.31 crores on Friday, the Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor starrer managed to pull in an additional Rs. 2.22 crores on Saturday, bringing its total to Rs. 28.42 crores. By the weekend’s end, the film is poised to easily cross the 30 crores milestone and set its sights on Rs. 31 crores.
