Bollywood Bucks: Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, Savi, and Srikanth Rake in Cash, Leaving Box Office Guru Grinning

In recent times, amidst a slew of flops and disasters, the standout performer has been “Srikanth”, edging closer to the coveted Rs. 50 crores milestone. However, the past week saw a glimmer of hope with three films, including “Srikanth”, collectively raking in over Rs. 40 crores, marking a relatively prosperous period for the exhibition sector.

Let’s delve into the new releases “Mr. & Mrs. Mahi” and “Savi” first. The former, from Dharma Productions in collaboration with Zee Studios, is a social romantic sports drama starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor. On the other hand, the latter, backed by T Series and Vishesh Entertainment, is a dramatic thriller led by Divya Khossla. Both films cater to different tones and audience demographics, primarily targeting the multiplex crowd. While “Mr. & Mrs. Mahi” amassed Rs. 24.89 crores, “Savi” collected Rs. 9.50 crores*, showcasing respectable figures considering the star power, content, and expectations.

Meanwhile, “Srikanth”, currently in its fourth week, brought in Rs. 6.02 crores, maintaining a steady performance. Like its counterparts, this film also benefited from Cinema Lovers Day, crossing the Rs. 1 crore mark on Friday. The Rajkummar Rao starrer’s total now stands at Rs. 47.28 crores, poised to surpass the Rs. 50 crores mark by the weekend.

While the previous week showed promise, the upcoming week is anticipated to spark further interest, especially with early reports and occupancy for “Munjya” showing positive signs.
