Deadpool & Wolverine has arrived and, oh boy, it’s here to rule the roost! While Bollywood is still hunting for that elusive blockbuster, this Hollywood superhero mash-up is doing a fine job of filling the void, and quite flamboyantly, might I add. Friday saw a smashing start with the film raking in over Rs. 20 crores, and it appears Saturday wasn’t too shabby either. When excitement peaks, the crowd follows suit.
Saturday wasn’t just any other day; it was a mammoth one with Rs. 22.68 crores added to the kitty. The film’s release on Friday had already created a stir, but now, thanks to the overwhelmingly positive word of mouth, it’s drawing crowds like bees to honey. And mind you, this isn’t your run-of-the-mill family flick. We’re talking about an R-rated film with blood splattering all over and profanities flying like confetti. But hey, when humor is the disguise, nothing seems offensive anymore. The audience knew what they were signing up for, and they are loving every bit of it.
So here we stand, with a total collection of Rs. 43.68 crores in just two days. That’s more than what 80% of notable films this year could muster in their entire run. With a promising Sunday ahead, surpassing Rs. 65 crores by the weekend’s end is almost a given. And if the stars align, we might even see it stretching towards the Rs. 70 crores milestone. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have indeed delivered a monster hit, and while the Rs. 100 Crores Club entry is just around the corner, the real question is, can it inch closer to Rs. 150 crores? Only time will tell.
