So, let’s start with our dish of the day – the movie ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’, featuring the dashing Rajkummar Rao and the dazzling Janhvi Kapoor. This unconventional duo had a fairly decent opening weekend, raking in a decent 6.75 crore. Not exactly a King Khan-sized opening, but hey, we can’t all be SRK.
The movie then saw a bit of a slump on Monday, bringing in a meagre 2.15 crore. But the real blow came on Tuesday, with a drop of around 15-20 percent. But don’t start playing the funeral march just yet, this isn’t entirely unusual for a Tuesday.
In fact, ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ managed to scrape together a total of 1.85 crore on Tuesday, which is a step up from the 2.15 crore it managed to make on Monday. So, it isn’t all doom and gloom. According to the number crunchers at Sacnilk, the five-day total for the movie stands at a respectable 20.85 crore.
In comparison, ‘Srikanth Bolla’ (you remember that one, right?) only managed a paltry 1.50 crore on its first Tuesday. If ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi’ can keep up this pace, it’s set to finish its first week with a total of around 24 crore. That’s a cool 5-6 crore more than ‘Srikanth’ pulled in during its opening week.
But wait, there’s more! The upcoming Friday will see the release of ‘Munjya’, a horror comedy featuring Sharvari Wagh, Mona Singh, and Abhay Verma. Will this new contender scare away the competition or will it leave audiences laughing all the way to the box office? Only time will tell.
