John Abraham’s ‘The Diplomat’ Holds Its Ground with a Cool Rs. 1.50 Crore on Hump Day: Bollywood Box Office Insights

Boxoffice Bhaskar Presents: The Diplomat’s Box Office Chronicles

Ladies and gentlemen, gather ’round! The box office is buzzing, and The Diplomat starring our very own muscle machine, John Abraham, is the topic du jour. It’s not every day you see a film that’s more stable than my morning cup of chai! With Rs. 1.52 crore rolling in on a Wednesday, it’s safe to say John’s diplomacy at the box office is working—or maybe it’s just his biceps.

So, what’s the scoop? Over the first couple of weekdays, the film’s collections have admirably clung to that Rs. 1.50 crore line, showcasing a steadfastness we usually reserve for Bollywood’s dance sequences. As long as the numbers don’t dip below Rs. 1.35 crore today, John can breathe as easily as he can flex.

Currently, after six days, the total stands tall at Rs. 18.01 crore. As we saunter towards the end of the first week, expectations hover around Rs. 19.50 crore. Assuming the second weekend doesn’t transform into a cinematic Bermuda Triangle, we might just cruise past the Rs. 30 crore mark for the film’s lifetime collection.

Now, let’s talk perspective. On one hand, considering the film stealthily slipped into theaters without a promotional parade, these numbers are actually pretty decent. Other movies with more fanfare have stumbled over the Rs. 20 crore hurdle, like Vedaa, which despite a robust Rs. 6.75 crore opening, barely scraped Rs. 20.25 crore, thanks to the Stree 2 phenomenon.

On the flip side, there’s John Abraham. Known for flexing his muscles not just in the gym but also at the box office with hits like Parmanu: The Story of Pokharan and Madras Cafe—films that comfortably netted half-centuries—The Diplomat seems like a baffling underperformer. One wonders if it deserved a Rs. 50 crore celebration instead of a modest reception.

And there you have it, folks! All figures are as accurate as the moon’s orbit around the Earth—according to our trusty box office sources. So, until next time, keep your popcorn ready and your expectations realistic. After all, in Bollywood, the plot twists aren’t just in the movies!
