Mr. & Mrs. Mahi, Chota Bheem, and Savi Can’t Scrounge Up 10 Crores Combined: Even a 99 Rupee Ticket on Cinema Lovers Day Fails to Salvage Box Office Blunders!

Good day, fellow Bollywood aficionados! It’s your favourite gossip monger, Bollywood Newshound Nisha, back with her snarky take on the latest happenings in Tinseltown. Remember, I bring you the unadulterated truth, garnished with a dash of sarcasm and a sprinkle of wit. So, buckle up, buttercups, as we dive into the murky waters of Bollywood box office collections.

This past Friday marked Cinema Lovers Day, and in a bid to reel in movie-goers, tickets were being sold for a mere 99 rupees. Despite this bargain, the box office was as lively as a graveyard. Three new films – ‘Mr and Mrs Maahi’, ‘Saavi’, and ‘Chhota Bheem’ – were released, but their combined earnings didn’t even hit the 10 crore mark. Quite the cinematic catastrophe, wouldn’t you say?

‘Mr and Mrs Maahi’ Manage Middling 6.85 Crore Opening Collection
The Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor starrer, ‘Mr and Mrs Maahi’ raked in a not-so-stellar 6.85 crores on opening day. With an occupancy rate of 56.15%, the film received its warmest reception in Jaipur, despite only premiering 103 shows. Meanwhile, in Delhi NCR, even with a whopping 789 shows, the film’s occupancy was a lukewarm 61.50%.

‘Saavi’ Scrapes Together 2.05 Crore
On the other hand, Divya Khosla Kumar’s film ‘Saavi’ managed to scrape together 2.05 crores on its first day. The film, also starring Anil Kapoor and Harshvardhan Rane, had an overall occupancy of 42.17%.

‘Chhota Bheem’ Bags Barely 65 Lakhs
The animated flick ‘Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan’ only managed to rustle up 65 lakhs on its first day. With an overall occupancy of 28.97%, it seemed like even the young ones were unwilling to part with their pocket money for this one.

‘Bhaiya Ji’ Barely Breaches 10 Crore Mark
Meanwhile, Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Bhaiya Ji’, released the previous Friday, added a meagre 52 lakhs to its earnings this week, taking its total collection to 9.55 crores.

‘Shrikant’ Shines with 42.79 Crore in Three Weeks
In more cheerful news, Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Shrikant’, released on May 10, continued its winning streak into its third week, adding another 1.40 crores to its kitty this Friday. The film’s total earnings now stand at a respectable 42.79 crores.

So, my darlings, the moral of the story? In the world of Bollywood, it isn’t always glitz and glamour. Sometimes, it’s more like a tragicomedy of errors. And remember, a 99 rupee ticket doesn’t guarantee a hit. You can lead a cinephile to the theatre, but you can’t make them watch. Until next time, this is Bollywood Newshound Nisha, signing off.
