Sarfira Sinks Faster Than the Titanic! Akshay Kumar’s Box Office Blues Continue
Alright, ladies and gents, gather around! It’s your favorite Bollywood box office wizard, Boxoffice Bhaskar, here to spill the beans on the latest disaster—err, I mean, release. The Akshay Kumar starrer, Sarfira, has decided to take a nosedive quicker than my hopes for a decent Bollywood film this year.
Cue Dramatic Sigh
As per the early estimates, the Sudha Kongara-directed film managed to scrape together a measly 1.35 to 1.50 crores on Monday. Yes, you read that right. Not even enough to buy a decent 2BHK in Mumbai! This brings the total collection to a not-so-grand 14.25 crores. Ouch! Someone hand me a tissue.
Sarcastic Applause
You see, the film should have ideally done a Monday that’s equal to its Friday, but no, it decided to take the road less traveled—the one leading straight to box office oblivion. A 50% dip in collections spells doom, gloom, and plenty of room for improvement. From here on, the lifetime collection is expected to hover around the 25-crore mark. For all the stakeholders involved, this is akin to being served a dish of disappointment with a side of regret.
Despite glowing reviews from critics, the audience seems to have collectively decided to give Sarfira a miss. It’s the third strike for Akshay Kumar, following the underwhelming performances of Mission Raniganj and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. If this was baseball, he’d be out.
Oh well, better luck next time, Akshay. Maybe it’s time to consider a career in gardening?
