Stree 2 Hits the Jackpot: Crosses Rs. 550 Crores!
Ahoy, Bollywood buffs! It’s your favorite box office jester, Boxoffice Bhaskar, here to spill the tea (or rather the popcorn) on the latest numbers straight from the Bollywood cash registers. Hold onto your seats folks, because this one’s a doozy!
First up on our list of box office marvels is none other than Stree 2. The much-anticipated horror-comedy sequel has done the unthinkable, smashing through the Rs. 550 crores milestone like a ghost on a mission. And guess what? This happened just after the fourth weekend! Yep, you read that right. The movie currently boasts Rs. 551.44 crores. Next stop? Animal, which clocked in at Rs. 556.36 crores in its Hindi run. By tomorrow, Stree 2 will probably scare Animal out of its spot, and then it’s on to challenge the big kahuna, Jawan (Hindi), with its lifetime haul of Rs. 584 crores.
Now, let’s talk about the weekend shenanigans. After an 80%+ jump on Saturday, Sunday saw a bit of a spike too, propelling the film back into double digits. The movie raked in Rs. 11.40 crores on Sunday, but don’t get too excited, folks. This double-digit magic might not repeat until Cinema Lover’s Day later this month. Until then, expect the flick to hover around Rs. 3 crores on weekdays, before another weekend surge.
And all eyes are now on Stree 3. Given the mega-success of Stree 2—which has collected more than four times what Stree did—the pressure is on for the third installment to be nothing short of a blockbuster. Whenever Stree 3 graces the screens, it’s bound to have a massive opening. But remember, folks, it’s the content that’ll decide whether it can follow in the spooky footsteps of its predecessor.
