Boxoffice Bhaskar Presents: Chhaava’s Box Office Blitz!
Ladies and gentlemen, grab your popcorn because the Bollywood rollercoaster has just hit a new high! Enter Chhaava, the cinematic juggernaut directed by Laxman Utekar, starring the dynamic duo Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna. This historical action thriller, which galloped into theaters on February 14, has not just broken records but utterly obliterated them. Based on the swashbuckling life of Maratha hero Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, this film has amassed a jaw-dropping Rs. 121.43 crore in its opening weekend alone. In comparison, other big releases of 2025 are left eating Chhaava’s dust. Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force could only muster Rs. 73.20 crore, while Game Changer and Deva scraped together Rs. 19.95 crore and Rs. 19.43 crore, respectively. And let’s not even mention the others, whose numbers are as forgettable as a two-day-old samosa. Chhaava’s conquest isn’t limited to Maharashtra. The film’s charisma has swept across North India, with places like NCR, Ahmedabad, and Surat reporting packed houses. Even down south, cities like Hyderabad and Bengaluru are contributing to Chhaava’s treasure chest.
But here’s the twist: the real test begins now. As the film sails into the choppy waters of the Monday-to-Thursday stretch, will it continue its triumphant march or will it sink faster than a lead balloon? Only time will tell if Chhaava can maintain its momentum and become the blockbuster of the year.
