Badass Ravi Kumar Film Review: An Exhausting Dance of Disarray Rather than Badassery

đŸ€©đŸ€©đŸ€ĄđŸ€ĄđŸ€Ą (2 stars for the effort, 3 clowns for the execution)

It seems like Himesh Reshammiya has been on a mission to redefine the meaning of ‘badass’. And boy, has he done a splendid job
of making it synonymous with ‘torturous’! Well played, sir.

Ladies and gents, it’s your favorite Bollywood bashing diva, Review Rani. Today, we delve into the world of “Badass Ravi Kumar” where logic is as rare as a good Himesh Reshammiya film. The movie is an ode to the 80s, complete with over-the-top dialogues and a narrative that’s as coherent as a toddler’s speech. đŸ’â€â™€ïž

Our hero, Ravi Kumar (Reshammiya, who else?), is a rule-breaking cop with a fierce determination to protect national secrets. But the real question is – can he protect us from his acting? No spoilers here, but let’s just say the nation’s security isn’t the only thing that’s compromised.

The plot is a chaotic mishmash that leaves you feeling like you’re on a rollercoaster, but not in a fun way. More like the kind where you’re praying for it to end. You see, Ravi is on a mission to retrieve a camera reel from Muscat containing classified information. A task entrusted to him by Commissioner Awasthi (Saurabh Sachdeva). The villains, Syed Bashir (Manish Wadhwa), Carlos Pedro (Prabhu Deva), and Laila (Kirti Kulhari), are after the same thing. The story is all about our ‘badass’ cop’s struggle to save the day.

Reshammiya’s acting is as convincing as a 3-year-old’s promise to not touch the cookie jar. His patriotic dialogues are as impactful as a feather in a boxing match. And oh, the love triangle with the two sisters, Laila and Madhubala (Simona J), is as engaging as watching paint dry. Despite her stunning looks, Simona J’s performance is as compelling as a snail race.

The only saving grace is Prabhu Deva, whose flashy red suit and golden shoes are more interesting than the entire movie plot. The supporting cast, including the likes of Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever, Kirti Kulhari, Sunny Leone and Rajesh Sharma, are as underutilised as a gym membership in January.

Add a few nonsensical gunfights, exaggerated stunts, and a forgettable soundtrack to the mix, and you get “Badass Ravi Kumar”. It’s like a jigsaw puzzle with pieces from different boxes.

Rani’s Wrap-Up: So, if you’re in the mood for a mind-numbing experience where logic is as elusive as a unicorn, then “Badass Ravi Kumar” is your pick. Remember, it’s not just bad; it’s ‘badass’. 🩄👏

Disclaimer: Himesh Reshammiya’s fans, please don’t come at me. I am just a harmless review queen. Love you! 💋💕
