Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Film Review: A High-Octane, Patriotic Potboiler with Punches of Humour and Unpredictable Twists

👑👑👑 (3/5)

Well, well, well. Here we are again, my Bollywood crazed darlings, with yet another flick trying to save the day, and the country, with a sprinkle of patriotism and a dash of tech-wizardry. This time it’s a power-packed duo, Captain Rocky (Akshay Kumar) and Captain Freddy (Tiger Shroff), who are our saving grace from an impending techno-doom. Hi, it’s Review Rani reporting for duty!

Our two musclemen, Rocky and Freddy, are the army’s prized possessions; brave, honest, and so patriotic they practically bleed saffron, white, and green. They’re a bit like rebellious teenagers, too, with their maverick ways. But when Mother India is in danger, who else but these two loose cannons to entrust the fate of the nation?

Enter the tech-savvy villain, who’s all set to unleash an AI apocalypse that could plunge our beloved country into a high-tech war and reduce our defence and financial capabilities to rubble. A ticking time bomb scenario if there ever was one.

The film, which I’ve affectionately nicknamed ‘Bade Miyan, Tech-Savvy Miyan’, sets the stakes high right from the get-go. Director Ali Abbas Zafar does a commendable job building up the suspense, much like a kid stacking blocks, waiting for it all to come crashing down. The first half of the film is a whirlwind of action, cheesy humour and some good ol’ banter between our leading men.

Akshay and Tiger’s on-screen chemistry is undeniable, with jibes flying around left, right and centre. Tiger, with his brooding good looks and a body that’s a work of art, holds his own against the veteran actor. And not to be outdone, our leading ladies, Manushi Chiller and Alaya F, pack a punch too, proving they’re more than just pretty faces.

Unfortunately, the second half doesn’t quite live up to the first. You see, in Bollywood, logic often takes a backseat, and ‘Bade Miyan, Tech-Savvy Miyan’ is no exception. A complex geopolitical crisis is resolved with the ease of solving a jigsaw puzzle, and the patriotic lines come fast and hard, much like the action scenes.

However, the film’s saving grace is its relentless action, innovative stunts and a musical score that will have you tapping your feet. The cinematography is top-notch, capturing the tension and scale of a war-like situation. While the excessive use of computer graphics might be a bit much for some, it does add a dash of drama to the action sequences.

In the end, ‘Bade Miyan, Tech-Savvy Miyan’ delivers an adrenaline-fueled roller coaster ride, complete with action, humour and just a hint of romance. So, if you’re in the mood for some patriotic action and don’t mind suspending your disbelief, this might just be the film for you.

Rani’s Wrap-Up: ‘Bade Miyan, Tech-Savvy Miyan’ – A high-octane action flick that’s a Bolly-good time if you can check your logic at the door. 😂🍿🎬
