Hold on to your popcorn, folks! Review Rani is here, and sheβs about to spill the masala on Sumit Kulkarniβs latest flick. If you thought you were in for another run-of-the-mill Bollywood comedy, think againβ¦ or maybe not. π
So, thereβs this guy, Baman (Sharib Hashmi), who has an uncanny skill for making friendsβ¦ and an equally strong talent for losing their trust. Heβs got a dream, a start-up dream, and he needs a cool 15 lakhs to make it happen. But alas, his reputation precedes him. His track record of failed ventures and unpaid loans has his pals running for the hills whenever heβs around.
Our dear protagonist decides to play a little game of βcatch me if you canβ with his old buddies, hoping to squeeze out some interest-free dough. Does he succeed? Well, letβs just say things getβ¦ interesting.
The film rides high on wit, slapstick humor, and a dash of nostalgia. Bamanβs escapades, from duping unsuspecting passengers into thinking heβs a cabbie, to causing mayhem at his friend Karanβs place (Sanjay Bishnoi), are quite the riot. Then thereβs More (Gaurav More), the house help whoβs utterly bewildered by the duoβs antics. And letβs not forget the squabbling between Karanβs wife Mohini (Vidya Malavade) and her mother-in-law β classic Bollywood spice!
Sharib Hashmi, as Baman, is like a hyperactive kid on a sugar high, and he totally owns it. Heβs the life of the party, the clown on centre stage, effortlessly switching between crude humor and emotional outbursts. Bishnoi, as the wealthy businessman torn between friendship and sanity, is convincing. And Patil, as the frustrated Akhil who just canβt stop sermonizing his son, does a swell job.
Of course, the movie isnβt without its share of cliches, and the endingβ¦ well, letβs just say it was as surprising as finding traffic on Mumbai roads during rush hour. But hey, itβs Bollywood, right? Weβre here for the laughs, not the plot twists.
Raniβs Wrap-Up: So, if youβve got nothing better to do this weekend, go watch Baman and his hilarious attempts at securing a loan. Itβs a one-time watch, but I guarantee youβll chuckle more than a few times. After all, who doesnβt love a good laugh at someone elseβs expense? π
Review Rani, signing off! Until the next reel rolls, keep your popcorn buttery and your soda fizzy. πΏπ₯€
