Well, well, well… if it isn’t our Bollywood trying to pull off another thriller and falling flat on its face yet again! This is your one and only, Review Rani, back with another eye-opener. So grab your popcorn, folks, because this is going to get as entertaining as it gets.
Let me introduce you to ‘Do Patti,’ a movie that tries its luck at being a thriller but ends up as thrilling as watching paint dry. The plot revolves around a murder mystery in a quaint hill town, investigated by the very ‘feisty’ officer Vidya Jyoti (played by Kajol). But hey, there’s a twist! There are twins, Saumya and Shailee (Kriti Sanon trying to pull off a double role). The movie should have been titled ‘Do Patti, Do Kriti,’ don’t ya think? 😏
The film can be best described as a deceptive cake with no cream or cherry on top. It gets you all excited, making you believe there’s an incredible plot twist coming up. But alas! It turns out to be a damp squib. The film is as unpredictable as the weather forecast, and the big ‘twist’ hits you with the force of a gentle breeze. Yawn! 🙄
The film attempts to build some sort of conflict between law and its spirit, a theme that has been explored far more effectively in other works. But ‘Do Patti’ loses its way faster than my Wi-Fi connection during a Netflix binge. Add to this a twin trope that’s been done to death in Bollywood, and you’ve got yourself a movie that’s about as original as a pirated DVD.
Now let’s talk characters. They’re as flat as a pancake, with less flavor. Kajol, playing the role of a single, no-nonsense cop, spews out dialogues that are meant to be witty but are as bland as hospital food. The only saving grace is her interaction with her subordinate Brijendra Kala, but sadly, this track is as sidelined as a vegetarian at a barbecue party.
Kriti Sanon looks stunning, no doubt, but her performance is as convincing as a 3-year-old promising to finish their vegetables. She struggles to differentiate between the twins she’s playing, making them as identical in personality as they are in appearance. And let’s not even get started on the rest of the cast. They’re as forgettable as last year’s New Year’s resolutions.
‘Do Patti’ tries to touch upon serious issues like domestic violence and childhood trauma, but it does so with the sensitivity of a bull in a china shop. It lacks depth and fails to leave a lasting impression.

In conclusion, ‘Do Patti’ is like a bad magic trick. It promises a lot of excitement but delivers nothing but disappointment. But hey, if you have a couple of hours to waste and nothing better to do, go ahead and give it a watch. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you! 😉
