Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro Film Review: Spinning a Tale of Artistry, Betrayal, and a Twist in the Tale

🌟🌟🌟🌟

So, here we go again, another Bollywood flick trying to be “deep.” This one’s titled ‘Bedtime Blahs’ (not really, but it should be). So, strap in and get ready for a roller-coaster ride of well… mild amusement and occasional yawns. Oh, and I’m Review Rani, your guide to the cinematic chaos that is Bollywood.

In the land of countless jobs and endless chai, we meet our protagonist, Tarini Bandopadhyay (played by Paresh Rawal). Tarini, a chatterbox of a storyteller, has a CV that’s longer than the list of my exes, hopping jobs like a kangaroo on a sugar rush. Now, he’s hoping to cure the insomnia of a rich businessman, Ratan Garodia (Adil Hussain). I mean, come on! Isn’t there a pill for that?

Tarini’s tales are as original as a Bollywood remix, but they do the job. That is until Garodia, showing the creativity of a soggy samosa, starts passing them off as his own. Why? To impress a woman! Yeah, because nothing says “I’m a catch” like plagiarizing bedtime stories.

‘Bedtime Blahs’ tries to be profound, with themes of self-doubt, plagiarism, and commercialism versus artistry. It’s like trying to find the meaning of life in a masala movie. The film’s pace is as relaxed as a sloth on a Sunday, which may not be everyone’s cup of chai.

The storyline features tales about trees in the forest and spy pigeons during WWII. If you’re thinking that sounds interesting, you’re wrong. The execution is as exciting as a power outage during the World Cup final. Still, it manages to throw a curveball at the end that’ll make you gasp (or at least yawn less loudly).

Rawal is convincing as a Bengali railing against capitalism, while Hussain is compelling as a businessman with an inferiority complex. Revathy, Jayesh More, and Tannishtha Chatterjee also chip in with performances that are as solid as a well-cooked chapati.

‘Bedtime Blahs’ is like a lukewarm cup of tea; it’s not exactly piping hot, but it’s not cold either. Its leisurely pace can make watching it feel like a marathon, but the performances and that unexpected twist at the end make it a somewhat worthwhile watch.

Rani’s Wrap-Up: If you’re in the mood for a movie that’s as leisurely as a snail on a treadmill and as deep as a kiddie pool, then ‘Bedtime Blahs’ is for you. Just remember to bring a pillow, in case the insomnia cure works a little too well. 🛌💤
