Kartik Aaryan Shines in ‘Chandu Champion’: Career-Best Performance in an Inspiring Tale

Hey there, Bollywood buffs! It’s your favorite snoop, Bollywood Newshound Nisha, back with the latest headlines from Tinsel Town. Buckle up for a ride through the glitz and glamour of Bollywood, served with my signature sass and snark. Let’s dive in! 🌟🍿

Kartik Aaryan’s "Chandu Champion" Hits Theatres: A Reel-Life Triumph or Just a Stretch?

Alright, folks, today’s hot topic is none other than Kartik Aaryan’s new flick "Chandu Champion," which has finally graced the silver screen on June 14th. This cinematic spectacle is a tribute to India’s very first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar. With a runtime clocking in at a solid 2 hours and 23 minutes, this film has bagged a respectable 4 out of 5 stars.

What’s the Story, Morning Glory?

Set your time machines to the 1950s. We’re in a quaint village in Maharashtra where a boy named Murlikant Petkar dreams of snagging an Olympic medal for India. Obsessed with Dara Singh, he dives into wrestling, much to the chagrin of his family and some snooty village folks who’d rather see him fail.

Our hero Murlikant eventually skips town and hops on a train. Onboard, he meets Karnail Singh, an army hopeful, who advises him to join the army if he wants a shot at the Olympics. Murlikant takes the advice and enlists. But surprise, surprise! There’s no wrestling in the Olympics. So, he shifts gears to boxing under the tutelage of Ali Sir (played by Vijay Raaz). Ali Sir becomes Murlikant’s guiding light.

And just when you think things are looking up, the plot thickens! Murlikant, Karnail Singh, and Ali Sir get posted to Kashmir, where a sudden Pakistani attack leaves Murlikant with nine bullets in his body. He miraculously survives but the dream seems dashed as half his body gets paralyzed.

But wait, there’s more! Ali Sir rekindles Murlikant’s hope, encouraging him to represent India in swimming at the Paralympics. What happens next? Well, you’ll have to watch the movie to find out. 🎬

Kartik Aaryan as Murlikant Petkar: A Star is Born?

Known for his comedic and romantic roles, Kartik Aaryan ventures into biographical drama, and boy does he shine! His efforts are palpable, with expressions and body language that hit the mark. Dare I say, this might just be Kartik’s career-best performance. Vijay Raaz, as the tough trainer, is impeccable. Bhuwan Arora, playing Karnail Singh, is also noteworthy, having previously impressed us as Shahid Kapoor’s buddy in the web series "Farzi." Let’s not forget Rajpal Yadav and Yashpal Sharma, who are perfectly cast in their roles.

Director’s Cut: Kabir Khan’s Vision

Kabir Khan, the man behind "Ek Tha Tiger" and "Bajrangi Bhaijaan," directs this film, and he does a commendable job of keeping the story engaging. The war and boxing scenes are particularly well-executed. The cinematography deserves a shoutout for accurately depicting India from 50-60 years ago. However, the film’s length might test some viewers’ patience. A bit slow for some, perhaps?

Musical Notes

The soundtrack fits the scenes well enough and won’t have you reaching for earplugs. But don’t expect to be humming these tunes long after the credits roll.

Final Verdict: To Watch or Not to Watch?

This film is undeniably inspiring. You’ll leave the theater with a newfound zeal to achieve something great. It’s a tale of a man lost in the annals of history, and this movie brings his heroics to light. If you love serious cinema or are a die-hard Kartik fan, this one’s for you. 🎥✨

Nisha’s Nutshell:

Moral of the Story: When life gives you bullets, become a Paralympic champion. Or, at least, make a Bollywood movie about it. Because in the world of Bollywood, anything is possible, even if it takes 2 hours and 23 minutes to get there! 🎬💫
