Well, well, well, Bollywood seems to be running out of fresh scripts, but hey, letâs not let that stop us from making another action-drama right? This time, we have the hunky NSG commando, Amrit Rathod (Lakshya) and his lovey-dovey girlfriend Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) who thought they were on a simple train ride to Delhi. But oh boy, were they wrong! In comes Fani (Raghav Juyal) and his merry gang of bandits turning their journey into an absolute nightmare.
So here we are, with our poor love-struck commando single-handedly battling these brutes, with no backup whatsoever. What a plot! đ
âKillâ seems to take inspiration from the notorious John Wick series and the likes, with its graphic violence and a revenge-driven storyline. But let me tell you, it falls short of the mark. Yes, the film does try to maintain some moral compass and while all the bloodshed and gore might keep you on the edge of your seat for a while, it gets pretty exhausting after a point.
Now, the novelty of the "train-journey-turned-nightmare" theme might be appealing, given that itâs been explored by South Korean and American films before. But guess what Bollywood? Itâs not all about copying the west and expecting it to work here. The storyline might be set in the close quarters of a train, but the lack of emotional depth makes the whole thing feel like a never-ending, monotonous ride.
Lakshya, our hero, does a decent job of transitioning from a calm soldier to a relentless killer, but the true star of the show is Raghav Juyal, who perfectly captures the eccentricity of his character. The filmâs director, Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, tries his best to keep things interesting, but the repetitive scenes and over-the-top violence just make it a tedious watch.
But do you want to know the real kicker here? The scene that shocked me the most wasnât the graphic fights or the gruesome deaths, but Amrit proposing to Tulika in a train toilet! I mean, whereâs the romance guys? đ
As your beloved Review Rani, I must say, âKillâ had the potential to be a gripping thriller, but it just made me squirm with its excessive violence. The film fails to instill that sense of fear and suspense that could have made it a true winner.
Raniâs Wrap-Up
In conclusion, âKillâ is just another action-packed Bollywood flick that overdoes the gore and lacks emotional depth. Itâs a wild ride, but not the enjoyable kind. So, unless youâre a fan of blood and gore, Iâd say give this one a miss. đ đ
