Hello, my lovelies! Itâs your favorite cynic, Review Rani, back again with another Bollywood bonanzaâŠor should I say, blunder? Buckle up, because weâre about to dive head-first into the movie that was supposed to be a rom-com but ended up being a rom-bomb: "Luv Ki Arrange Marriage".
The story, in case youâre still interested, revolves around a love triangle, but not the kind youâre used to. Luv, played by Sunny Singh, is all heart-eyes for Ishika (Avneet Kaur), but hereâs the twist: his widowed father, played by the Bollywoodâs very own Casanova, Annu Kapoor, has his heart set on Ishikaâs mother (Supriya Pathak). Queue the dramatic music and pointless plot twists, my dear readers!
Now, I must admit, Annu Kapoor and Supriya Pathak do their best to breathe some life into this plot, but alas! Even their seasoned acting chops canât salvage this sinking ship of a story. The humour, if you can call it that, is as forced as the plot itself. And donât get me started on the so-called chemistry between Luv and Ishika. Itâs about as exciting as watching paint dry.
Sure, the movie is set in the picturesque town of Orchha, but trust me, the scenery is the only appealing thing about it. The film, which promises a rollercoaster of laughs, romance, and drama, delivers only a melancholy sigh and a sense of wasted time.
But hey, donât take my word for it. Go ahead, watch it. Just donât say I didnât warn you.
Raniâs Wrap-Up: In the land where Bollywood dreams are made (or in this case, shattered), "Luv Ki Arrange Marriage" is the cinematic equivalent of a bad date: it starts off promising, but by the end, youâre left wondering why you bothered in the first place.
Until next time, my darlings, remember: not every film is worth the popcorn. đżđż
